Drilling
Select the correct standard drill bit based on specifications. Drill to a depth ≥ wire thread insert installation depth. Avoid conical holes and chip accumulation. Limit counterboring to ≤0.4 pitch depth to ease insert insertion.

Use a tangless thread insert tap with specified thread specs. Ensure tapping depth exceeds insert length (tap entirely for through holes). Select proper tapping methods and lubrication to control thread tolerance. Clean holes with compressed air or a radial-hole nozzle for blind holes. Verify high-precision threads using insert-specific gauges.

Screw on the tailless thread insert
Screw the tailless thread insert onto the installation tool of the corresponding specification to ensure that the hook on the tailless thread insert is fully engaged with the slot on the head of the installation tool.
